What Are Flags?

DisplayLayerImageGenerator.ashx?displayLayers=flag_pole,flag_pink Flags are usually pieces of fabric attached to a stick of some kind. Their primary use is to mark the location of something. In the case of Parallel Kingdom - Age of Thrones, they are used to mark your territory. Flags can also be used to travel, see "Using Flags for Travel" below.

Building Flags

Flags can be built by tapping the "Menu" button followed by "Create" >> "Build" >> "Flag." Of course this requires that you have enough Leather and Wood. If you do not, then it is back to hunting for you. I recommend that you have enough material for at least three flags before you start so that you can truly experience the benefits of flag building.

Placing Flags

When you build a Flag, it is automatically placed where you are standing. THIS IS IMPORTANT. You should place flags as far apart as possible where you can still see the other flag on your map. This makes travel more efficient as you will see later.

Using Flags for Travel

After you build your first few Flags you will probably sit there for a moment contemplating life and what on earth you are supposed to be doing with these flags you have just placed. The answer: Travel. Yes, that's right you can use your flags to travel. To accomplish this, tap your flag and choose "Visit Location." Your map will then recenter on the flag you selected. Soon you will be roaming your territory at will.

Different Types of Flags

At any time, you can tap one of your flags and change its type from Normal to Public or Private. You can change a flag's type any time the flag is visible, as much as you want, at no cost.

  • Normal flags: This is the default setting. Normal flags can only be used by you and players that you have granted Right of Passage.
  • Public flags: These are still owned by you, but they will show as a lighter color of your normal flags color. Public flags can be used by any player except Enemies of the flag's owner. No Right of Passage is needed but the owner can charge a toll is he/she chooses.
  • Private flags: Cannot be used by anyone else, even if they have Right of Passage on your land. Use this to keep others away from your house, tree farms, and precious mines.

Abandoned Flags

1st Stage - 1 Month of Player Inactivity

  • Flags/Buoys become marked as "Abandoned" 1 month after the owner stops logging in.
  • Burning is still necessary to remove the flag, and you will become an enemy with the owner.
  • Flagpoles will look different when flags are considered Abandoned. They will appear darker and bend over a little. abandoned_flag_light_green.png

2nd Stage - 2 Months of Player Inactivity

  • After 2 months of inactivity anyone can instantly "Take Over" Flags/Buoys.
  • No burning will be necessary and you will not become an enemy with the owner.
  • Taking over Flags/Buoys cost the original Build Price (i.e. 3 Wood/3 Leather for a Flag).
  • If the Flag is a Hardened Flag, the base will darken and look ready to crumble. abandoned_flag_hardened_light_green.png

Destroying Your Flags

If you manage to place a Flag you no longer want, tap the flag followed by the destroy button. Warning: You'll only get half your resources back (rounded down) when destroying your own buildings.

Destroying the Flags of Others

If you are the type of person who likes to see others cry, you may take up the occupation of attacking other players' territory. Flags, like most objects in Parallel Kingdom, have HP. To reduce the HP of any building, you can attack it. You can only attack each building once per 22 hours, however unhardened flags can be attacked as often as you like. When the HP of a building reaches 50%, you will no longer be able to hack it with your weapon and will instead have to start it on fire. Yes!

Once the HP is it 50%, tap the flag and select "Burn." This costs 20 Crude Oil and the flag will start on fire.

If the flag is unhardened, it will burn down quickly (30 secs or so). If it is hardened, the burning process will take a full day, so the owner will have some time to find it and repair it if they want to keep it.

See Burn Time for the time it takes to repair and burn structures.

Destroying flags can be useful to cut off a players ability to reach a remote part of his/her territory or to protect your own territory from the encroachment of others.
