Floating Island

island.png

Floating Islands are structures found throughout the Sky Realm. They are pretty common throughout the Sky, and are very valuable. Floating Islands can be owned by a player or by a Kingdom. Once you find an unclaimed Floating Island, you need to claim it. To claim a Floating Island, you need a Wind Element, a Fire Element, and an Aether Element. It takes 7 seconds to claim an island. Once your Floating Island is claimed, you have a few options. First of all, you can build a structure on the Floating Island using 3 different elements. There are 6 structures that can be built, and they are all different. 3 of the structures are personal buildings, and the other 3 are Kingdom buildings. Each Floating Island can only hold one building at a time. Also, each building that can be built can be upgraded 3 times, but if the ownership of the island changes, the upgrades are lost. The buildings that you can construct on a Floating Island are as follows:

Shock Mine

Trodont Doctrine's bonus for getting double resources does apply to Shock Mines. Shock Mines have 4 different levels, and each level produces a different amount of Shock Fragments. The levels are as follows:

Claimed Floating Islands can be taken over very quickly. If you own a Floating Island and don't have a building on it, anybody can come along and reclaim the Island for themselves. This costs a Wind Element, a Fire Element, and an Aether Element. Taking over a Claimed Floating Island takes 30 seconds, and adds the owner to the burner's enemy list.

Once a building has been constructed on the Floating Island, it is harder to take over. A player can burn a Floating Island with a building on it. This takes a Wind Element, a Fire Element, and an Aether Element. It will take 24 hours for the building to burn down, and the burner will be added to the owner's enemy list. If the owner finds the Floating Island before the 24 hours are up, the island can be rebuilt using the same 3 elements that the building took to build.

An owner can also further protect their building by creating a Thunderhead. A Thunderhead is a form of extra protection on a Floating Island, and can be built for a Wind Element, a Lightning Element, and an Aether Element. Thunderheads take 30 seconds to build. If an Island has a Thunderhead on it, the Island cannot be burnt until the Thunderhead is removed.

To clear somebody else's Thunderhead, you need a Wind Element, a Lightning Element, and an Aether Element. It will take 24 hours to clear the Thunderhead, and once it is removed, the building can be burnt as normal. An owner can repair their Thunderhead for a cost of Construct Essence.

Also, all the Floating Islands claimed for the Kingdom count towards the Kingdom Sky Influence score.
