Sign
Signs are bought from Traveling Merchants. Once you have one in your inventory, you can post your sign anywhere on land, except in a city. Just go to "Menu" >> "Items" and select your Sign. Choose "Place Sign," spend 1 Wood and write your message. Now anyone that comes along can read the message you've written.
Signs cannot be attacked directly but they can be set on fire. If someone burns down your Sign, it will go back into your inventory, but you'll need to spend another Wood to post it again. If there is a length of 5 weeks where your Sign is not read by another player or maintained by you, it will be removed from the game map and go back into your inventory.
